Easter Sunrise Beach Service – All faiths welcome.  7:00am at Artie's - Beach Side Deck.   









Migratory Bird Celebration
April 23, 2022 

The Annual Grand Isle Migratory Bird Celebration provides a great opportunity for birding and photography. Experienced guides will take you for a leisurely walk through Grand Isle's unique live oak and hackberry chenier woods to see warblers, orioles, tanagers, thrushes, buntings, and other neo-tropical migrant songbirds. Small boat tours of Barataria Bay will take you to see nesting Brown Pelicans on Queen Bess Island, with possible sightings of Black Skimmers, Magnificent Frigate Birds, American Oyster Catchers, and various shorebirds.

Light refreshments will be provided at pre-dinner socials giving you a chance to meet other birdwatchers and local residents. Pre-registration is required for some of the events. Meet at the Grand Isle Community Center, Hwy 1.

Historic Home Tour
April, 2021 - TBA

Take a walk to visit the island's historic homes. Local guides will share stories about the island's first

families.  Led by: Historical Society of Grand Isle, Tours are $5 per person.

Meet: Grand Isle Multi Plex, Ludwig Ln. during the Migratory Bird Celebration.


If you miss the Live Tour, please stop by the Visitor Center next to the Butterfly Dome and you may

purchase a CD of the tour, approx. 45 minutes long, that you can play in your car as you drive the

tour route.  

  7 Mile Island Wide Garage Sale
  May 28, 2022, Memorial Day Weekend
  Register your garage sale for $10 per location, or Craft Booth for $20.
  Booths that need electricity are $ 30.Craft Booths will be located at the
  Community Center Parking Lot.  Each Garage sale registered will be
  included on the official Sale Map distributed at the Port Commission
  the day of the sale.  Signage will be places at the street intersections at
  LA 1 for each registered sale.  Vendors set up the the Grand Isle Community
  Center, Hwy. 1.  Set up hours are 7 am to 8 am.

Grand Isle Ladies Fishing Rodeo
October 7 - 8, 2022, Columbus Day Weekend

Held each year on Columbus day weekend, This Fishing Rodeo is like no other! Our Ladies only fishing tournament is really more like a fishing party, we have conventional fishing awards, plus a Fishing Fashion Team award, lots a great raffles, live auction, band & great food.  All this to raise awareness for Breast Cancer and money for local cancer centers.  To date, the rodeo has raised more than $250,000.00 for local cancer charities.  Held at Bridge Side Marina.  Come get hooked on the Grand Isle Ladies Fishing Rodeo !
